Minimalist Movement

This is a PSA to burn your puffy parka.

This fall and winter, fashion is all about sleek outerwear and tailored outfits. No more chunky scarves, no more bulky snow boots. So what are you waiting for? Start that fire.

Instead of parkas that make people look like the Michelin Man, switch out stuffy winter coats for a full-length pea coat or a cool leather jacket. Take on a minimalist approach

with colors this chilly season — camel and black are classic outerwear colors that go well with everything.

For pants, tailored, ankle length trousers for men and women are an excellent option. Try to use patterns sparingly and keep colors neutral. If you can’t find a good ankle-length pant, try cuffing dark wash jeans.

Shoes are difficult to pair with outfits, especially in winter. Use waterproof spray on your Chelsea boots to easily transition them from fall to winter. Ankle boots are a classic statement piece, and you can even find ones that are for the snow.

So when the temperature drops, don’t fret — you can balance practicality and style with these minimalist tips to achieve a chic look.
